The AKArama Foundation is the philanthropic entity of the Theta Omega Chapter. The Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The AKArama Foundation is governed by a 15 member board and has a membership of 500. Established in 1980, the foundation designs and implements programs that provide needed services to the community. The Foundation is able to respond to the needs of the community through programs of service in the following:

 

  • Black Family
  • Health
  • Arts
  • Economic Development
  • Education
  • Scholarship
  • World Community

Expand Soror Participation In……..

 

·         Annual AKArama Fundraiser

·         Support for Beta Chapter

·         Economic Smart Fair

·         Chapter Birthday Celebration

·         Holiday Affair Christmas Brunch

·         Participation at Central Regional Conference

·         Participation at the Centennial Boule

·         Sorority Relations Quarterly Activities

·         2008 Founders’ Day Celebration

·         Scholarship Luncheon

·         Chapter Picnic

·         Provide voter registration and voter education

·         Participate in AKA Day at the State Capital

·         Plan and attend cultural events/chapter outings

·         Collaborate and have joint activities with Greek letter organizations

·         Establish partnerships with Community based organizations

·         Increase the usage of new technology in the chapter

 

Program activities are designed to enhance the cultural, social and intellectual potential of the community.
